ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – Baldwin REALTORS® has been selected as the 2019 Inman Innovator Awards winner in the Most Innovative MLS, Association or Industry Organization category.
Baldwin REALTORS was selected based on the major milestone it reached in 2018, when it became the first REALTOR Association in the nation to offer group health, dental and vision insurance plans to treat its 2,300 members.
“Being able to offer health, dental, and vision insurance to our membership is one of the most defining accomplishments of my career,” said Sheila Dodson, CEO of Baldwin REALTORS. “To be recognized for this accomplishment by the leading real estate news organization and to be chosen as the leaders among thousands of associations is humbling. It is amazing what can happen when you set out to help others, especially with such an important need as healthcare.”
Dodson, along with Troy Wilson, 2018 President and current Immediate Past President, and Kandy Hines, 2019 President of Baldwin REALTORS, accepted the award in Las Vegas July 25.
“Not long after reality set in that we were nominated as an Inman Innovator finalist, we were off to represent our association as winner of this prestigious award that is so highly respected in the real estate industry,” said Hines. “The encouragement and support we received was overwhelming. Baldwin Realtors is honored to be recognized as a leader in creating a pathway to successes for our association and its members.”
The REALTOR association was selected among an elite group in the real estate world including Zillow, Redfin, the National Association of REALTORS, Tom Ferry and others.
"It was an honor to have been nominated as a finalist for the 2019 Inman Innovator Award, but absolutely incredible to actually win the award,” Wilson said. “Considering all the talented and much larger competition we were up against, it makes winning a more monumental success. This was such a meaningful and significant accomplishment for Baldwin REALTORS. This award is a major milestone for the association, and it helps to symbolize the positive impact Baldwin REALTORS has been and continues to be for so many of its members."
Inman Innovators are described as “…the visionaries, the forward-thinking, the stubborn, the tinkerers, the obsessed, the tech-savvy and the creative minds always testing boundaries. The Inman Innovator Awards requires a company or person who consistently tries new things, adopts new technology, creates a new culture or approach to real estate or has achieved an unmatched level of success. Over 60 finalists are then grouped into six categories.
