Baldwin REALTORS® sees first round of renewals for their Local Certification Program

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – Last month, Baldwin REALTORS® (BR) held their final 2022 renewal course for the Baldwin County Certified Specialist (or BCCS) program.

Established in 2020, this program certifies agents in their knowledge, experience, and commitment to one of three real estate “areas” in Baldwin County – Resort, Eastern Shore and Rural. In the past 2 years, 87 BR members gained this prestigious title. But the heightened requirements involved with renewing the certification every two years has begun to trim down the qualified agent pool.

The sheer size of Baldwin County was one of the biggest motivators behind the initial creation of the BCCS program. Larger than the state of Rhode Island, there is a wide range of real estate found within all 2,027 square-miles. Each of the three “areas” of the BCCS program (Resort, Eastern Shore and Rural) comes with its own unique real estate differences.

To be eligible for renewal, REALTORS® must have represented 18 or more buyers or sellers in real estate transactions in their “area” of certification over the past 2 years since first earning the title of BCCS. They also must complete a rigorous application analyzing their association and community involvement and sit through a day-long renewal course. Brent Lancaster, CEO & President of Bob Brooks School in Baton Rouge, LA, is the certified instructor for the education portion of this program.
