Robertsdale, AL – Baldwin REALTORS® (BR), the local REALTORS® association & MLS serving Baldwin County and the surrounding Gulf Coast region, is thrilled to announce its receipt of the esteemed 2023 Robert C. Meeks Award from Alabama REALTORS®. This prestigious accolade is a recognition of BR’s exceptional efforts in aggressively defending and promoting REALTOR® legislative interests, fostering positive communication with elected officials, and surpassing all others in Alabama REALTOR® Political Action Committee (ARPAC) fundraising and support.
The Robert C. Meeks Award, presented annually by Alabama REALTORS®, has been awarded to BR four times in the last five years. The association takes pride in doing their part to advocate for private property and homeownership rights at the local level and to educate their REALTOR® members on the important investment found in ARPAC.
"We are honored to receive the 2023 Robert C. Meeks Award from Alabama REALTORS®, as it underscores our commitment to legislative advocacy and political engagement. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have consistently gone above and beyond to support our members and the real estate industry as a whole," said Jennifer Foutch, Association Executive Officer at Baldwin REALTORS®.
Baldwin REALTORS®’s proactive approach to legislative advocacy begins with monitoring monthly county and municipal planning meetings. A monthly summary of the meetings highlighting actions pertaining to residential real estate is distributed to members in their monthly newsletter. Baldwin REALTORS® informs membership of upcoming agenda items that impact the local real estate industry, and the Government & Political Affairs Committee participates in issue advocacy for private property rights.
Additionally, Baldwin REALTORS® ARPAC Committee works year-round to educate members on the important legislative work being done on behalf of the real estate industry and support the candidates doing such work. Over the past three years, ARPAC has advocated for "essential business" status for real estate agents during the pandemic, defeated legislative efforts that would negatively impact property managers, extended and expanded our state's First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account Program, and much more.
As Baldwin REALTORS® continues to uphold the highest standards in legislative advocacy and political engagement, the association remains dedicated to serving its members and the community. The 2023 Robert C. Meeks Award serves as a testament to BR’s exemplary commitment to advancing REALTOR® interests in the legislative and political arenas.
