Baldwin REALTORS® congratulates members for earning and renewing Local Certification as a BCCS

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – Last week, Baldwin REALTORS® (BR) held certification and renewal courses for their Baldwin County Certified Specialist (or BCCS) program. Established in 2020, this program certifies agents in their knowledge, experience, and commitment to one of three real estate “areas” in Baldwin County – Resort, Eastern Shore and Rural. Fourteen BR members took the initial certification classes, and eight members took the renewal course to re-up their existing BCCS certification for 2 more years.

REALTORS® that took the 3 days of certification classes earned their seat by filling out an application and meeting the requirements of association membership of 2 or more years and participation in 12 or more real estate transactions within the past two years in the “area” of Baldwin County where they seek to earn their certification (Resort, Eastern Shore or Rural). The application also asks them to record their association and community involvement. Before officially earning the title of Baldwin County Certified Specialist, these new participants must also take 2 days of online courses in their area of certification.

To be eligible for renewal, REALTORS® must represent 18 or more buyers or sellers in real estate transactions in their “area” of certification over the past 2 years, since first earning the title of BCCS. They also must complete a renewal application documenting their association and community involvement and sit through a day-long renewal course. Brent Lancaster, CEO & President of Bob Brooks School in Baton Rouge, LA, is the certified instructor for the education portion of this program.

The sheer size of Baldwin County was one of the biggest motivators behind the initial creation of the BCCS program. Larger than the state of Rhode Island, there is a wide range of real estate found within all 2,027 square-miles. Each of the three “areas” of the BCCS program (Resort, Eastern Shore and Rural) comes with its own unique real estate differences.
